James C. Gordon
Jim Gordon was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in 1976. He is Board Certified in Civil Litigation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and is experienced in many areas of commercial and civil litigation, especially construction and the practice of engineering and architecture. Jim was part of a team of attorneys who represented Carter & Burgess, Inc. a national architecture/engineering firm headquartered in Fort Worth, in litigation and contract negotiation matters for over ten years, prior to its merger with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. in 2008.
Jim has represented a wide spectrum of clients in state and federal courts, asserting claims and defending businesses in cases involving allegations of fraud, fiduciary mismanagement, unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, and other business disputes. He is experienced in arbitration and is a certified mediator.
Jim is experienced in representing creditors in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings, including appeals. He has wide experience in oil and gas law and litigation concerning title, marketing and operations disputes.
Jim is married to Karen Gordon and is the father of five children, and two grandchildren. He is a former director of the Tarrant County Bar Association, and a Director and past President of Dispute Resolution Services of Tarrant County.
