Karen Gordon has three decades of experience in the areas of business law, estate planning, probate, and guardianship law. She worked as a lawyer at a prominent law firm in Fort Worth until 2002, when she formed Gordon & Sykes, LLP with Dan W. Sykes.
Ms. Gordon’s expertise spans many areas of law, including a broad range of business transactions, estate and trust litigation, guardianships, nonprofit corporate law, and contracts and business policies. She is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning and Probate Law.
She regularly advises multimillion dollar corporations regarding corporate issues, contracts, employment issues, business agreements and dispute resolutions. She frequently represents bank trust departments and other fiduciaries on administering estates and trusts, as well as beneficiaries in estate and trust matters. Ms. Gordon also provides the counsel and legal advice necessary to persons with disabilities in connection with forming guardianships, elder law issues, powers of attorney and living trusts, preparation of wills and trusts, and other estate planning and wealth transfer instruments.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 1975, she went on to earn her law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1978. She is married to James C. Gordon and has two children, Sarah and Claire Gordon.

Dan Sykes, as of January 1, 2019, has retired and become Of Counsel. Dan was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1975. Upon retirement, he switched to inactive status with the Bar. Prior to joining Karen Gordon in the formation of Gordon & Sykes, LLP in 2002, he was a shareholder and director in an established Fort Worth law firm.
Over the years, he represented clients in business and commercial transactions, with emphasis on real estate, franchising, and commercial and real estate lending. In the real estate sector, Mr. Sykes represented developers, urban and rural landowners, grantors of conservation easements, and commercial landlords and tenants. In commercial law, his experience ranged from the sale and acquisition of companies, organizational and planning issues for corporations, and limited liability companies and partnerships, to the representation of both start-up franchisors and established franchise systems, in the United States and beyond.
Mr. Sykes earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College in 1972 and his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1975, where he graduated with honors and served as a director of the Legal Research Board. He is an active member of the Fort Worth community, serving as an elder, trustee, and Mission Committee Chair at First Presbyterian Church, as a board member of the Fort Worth chapters of the Association for Retarded Citizens and Girls, Inc., and as Board President of the Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County. His wife, Jane, continually serves the community in many ways. They have been married for over 45 years and are proud parents and grandparents.

Desiree Strong earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with honors from Texas A&M University in 2004. She then earned her law degree with honors from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2007. She is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Probate Bar and the Fort Worth Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association.
Ms. Strong is an active member of the Fort Worth community. She is a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, and actively participates with Kids Who Care, Lil Goldman Early Learning Center and St. Andrew Catholic Church. She is married to Taylor and has two lovely daughters.
Brett Jackson Wyatt

Brett Wyatt was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990 and brings over 31 years of law experience to the firm. His expertise is in consumer, commercial, and real estate law, and he has experience in the areas of probate, oil and gas, ad valorem taxation, condemnation, family, and social security disability law.
Mr. Wyatt is an active member of the community as an elder, trustee, and chairman of several committees at Ridglea Presbyterian Church, as a board member of the Tarrant County Appraisal Review Board, as Past President of the Meadows West Homeowners Association, and as a Special Commissioner appointed to determine fair compensation in condemnation proceedings. He and his wife of 25 years, Dawn, have five children.

Bonny M.M. Link holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Organization Management from Texas Tech University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin.
After graduating from law school, Bonny transitioned from healthcare to her own law practice before becoming the Guardianship Auditor for Judge Pat Ferchill in Tarrant County’s Statutory Probate Court #2. After a number of years with Judge Ferchill where Bonny had a bird’s eye view of the inner workings of a Statutory Probate Court in Texas, Bonny returned to the private practice of law.
Bonny has a focus on guardianship, elder law issues, probate, administration of estates and estate planning.
Bonny and her husband, Chris, live with their daughters, Hannah and Abigail, son, Christopher, 2 overly friendly dogs, 1 very tall horse, and 2 snake hunting cats in Fort Worth, Texas.
When not practicing law, Bonny can be found laughing with her children, planning adventures with her husband, enjoying dark chocolate or swinging in her front porch hammock with a good book.
